The Mexicans Folk Ballet is a vibrant Mexican dance company based in Toronto since 2012, founded and directed by Jorge Zarate Tristan. Our mission is to share and promote the richness of Mexican culture, traditions, and folklore through dance, drawing on the country’s deep and diverse cultural heritage.
We are proud to bring this heritage to Canadian and international audiences, enriching multicultural communities through vibrant performances, education, and artistic collaboration.

Mexico is a mosaic of cultures. Each region (like Jalisco, Veracruz, Chiapas, etc.) has its own dances, costumes, and rhythms. Folklórico honors that diversity.
The dances may look effortless, but behind every show is serious practice, teamwork, and attention to detail. Respect for the craft is a big part of the culture.
